Movie Recommendation of the Week

Paths of Glory

Starring Kirk Douglas (aka: Issur Danielovitch); directed by Stanley Kubrick

It is the classic World War I movie. I am screening it for my US History classes. It's just amazing and should be required viewing in all high schools across the globe. For real.

How gory or violent is it?

It is not gory at all (primarily b/c it came out in the 1950s when you couldn't show that kind of thing). There is only one battle scene in the entire movie that lasts a total of 5 minutes. The point of the scene isn't to be shocking in the sense that it is violent, but rather it is to show the senseless nature of trench warfare. You should all see it, not just David.
